If its taking too long, it usually means your internet is slow.

You can check your internet speed at www.speedtest.net  . Open the site and click on BEGIN TEST.

(The site has may ads, so ensure you don't click on anything but BEGIN TEST)

My Internet is not slow. It is brand new. Why are there so many people complaining about the speed of the installation of Office 365?

Dear Sir / Madam,

To date I am now entering the third week, and still no closer to being able to install 365 Office Home Premium, even though I have repeatedly request assistance from MS.  The question is, how long does it take before I can use MS Office 365 Home Premium on my PC, without receiving a prompt on my screen that informs me that the MS program has a problem.

i has the same issue like you. i installing an office 2013 thru purchased on US website and it hang on the part that take age to install. so i try many way until i found a quick solution which are:

Repair an Office application

TIP   If you're having trouble installing Office, seeFix Office 365 or Office 2013 install errors.

If an Office application isn't working properly, sometimes restarting it will fix the problem. If that doesn't work, you can try repairing it. When you're done, you might need to restart your computer.

1. Go to Control Panel.
   • In Windows 8, on theStart screen, typeControl Panel, and selectControl Panel in the search results.
   • In Windows 7 or Vista, clickStart >Control Panel.
     1. ClickPrograms >Programs and Features.
     2. Click the Office application you want to repair, and then clickChange.
     3. In Office 2013, click eitherQuick Repair orOnline Repair. In Office 2010, clickRepair >Continue

Just use online repair instead of quick repair. it will take about 15min for streaming and background installation. After finished, just type your product key. That all , it done and you can start use it and activated too. (Make sure you use medium fast speed internet)

I feel your pain.

It took me two and a half hours just to get me signed into my Microsoft Account, then the download page went down for "maintenance".  So I tried the next day where it actually let me get to the download part.  This took one hour forty five minutes with about a inch of the download bar to go it decided my internet was no longer connected.

So I am wondering whether or not I will see Halley's comet pass before I get my Microsoft Office 365 to download and be installed.

mine was being "repaired" remotley by Microsoft, 9 hours later I turned the PC off. Now I've uninstalled it, 3 hours later and I am now reinstalling it. For the last hour the slider showing progress hasnt moved.

I too am experiencing installation problem with Office 365 personal. Over 1 hour 30 minutes have passed and screen still says- getting things ready. Online chat assistance blames internet speed. Other downloads do not give problems, so why Office 365??

The download progress too does not get displayed, which is further irritating.

I too am experiencing a download error, grrr. What happen to the good days when we could insert a cd? This is so frustrating. If I would have known I was going to have this problem I would not have bought this.

And yes, the download progress makes me more angry because it is not displayed, I had to wait for the error notice.

Very painful :(

I started installing Office Home & Business 2016 on my new purchased Dell XPS 8900  last night at 7:30  and this morning still not done.

I think it was a downgrade product from previous version. Not satisfied at all.
